Camaro CA/WA Copper Free Brakes

Camaro CA/WA Copper Free Brakes

For Model Year 2022-2024 GM introduced a Copper-Free brake pad/rotor option for SS & ZL1 models due to the restriction of copper infused OE pads. This featured a larger pad for the SS models, bringing up to the same size as the ZL1 models.

The factory rotor size on a SS 1LE for example is 370mm, but if you have the Copper-Free Version, that brings it up to a massive 398mm.

This also includes standard SS models with the 4-Piston calipers to now have 6-Piston Calipers in the front.

We've seen a lot of confusion on this lately with the need for brake swaps hitting that mileage mark, and customers not realizing the GM did this change.

GM also added this as an option to upgrade to when you special ordered a Camaro, regardless of it being delivered to California or Washington State.

For reference, GM's RPO Code (Build Code) for this is "BCD" - Performance Copper-Free Brake System.
***If you are unsure if your Camaro has this option, please contact us directly, with your VIN and we can confirm for you. Otherwise this will be printed on your Camaro's build sticker, which can be found either in the Drivers Side Door Jam or in the normal spare tire storage location.

Affected Models Include:

2022-2024 Model Year Delivered to California or Washington State or Special Ordered with option.
1SS & 2SS - 1LE AND NON-1LE
ZL1 & ZL1 1LE
