Hawk’s HPS 5.0 compound uses an advanced Ferro-Carbon friction formulation engineered to deliver aggressive brake torque, shorter stopping distances, improved pedal feel, and smooth, predictable control without compromising ABS operation. HPS 5.0 provides increased brake torque and temperature capability compared with Hawk’s standard HPS compound while remaining suitable for high-performance street driving. The compound operates from 100°F to 750°F, with an optimal temperature range of 100°F to 550°F. It can also tolerate limited light track use when properly managed, although Hawk does not classify HPS 5.0 as a dedicated racing compound.
