Fits 2017-2024 Camaro ( ZL1 & ZL1 1LE Models)

DESCRIPTION:

Upgrade the front braking system of your 2017-2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 or ZL1 1LE while retaining the factory two-piece rotor hats with the Disc Brakes Australia DBA53916.1S T3 5000 Series Front Rotor Ring Replacements. This package includes two DBA53916.1S rotor rings, providing a complete replacement pair for the front axle while allowing the original OEM aluminum hats to be reused. The DBA53916.1S is specifically engineered as an OE-direct-replacement friction ring for the Camaro ZL1's factory two-piece front brake rotor assembly. Rather than purchasing complete replacement rotor assemblies with new hats, the DBA rings replace the worn friction surfaces and bolt to the original factory bells/hats. As part of DBA's performance-oriented 5000 Series, the DBA53916.1S incorporates the company's T3 bi-directional slot design. The precision-machined slots are designed to improve brake-pad bite, help evacuate gases and debris from the pad-to-rotor interface, and reduce glazing for more consistent braking under demanding street and track conditions. Cooling performance is enhanced by DBA's Kangaroo Paw ventilation system, which uses 144 diamond- and teardrop-shaped pillars inside the rotor rather than conventional straight cooling vanes. This internal architecture is designed to increase surface area and promote effective heat dissipation while adding structural support throughout the rotor ring. DBA manufactures the rotor rings from high-carbon alloyed iron to provide increased thermal capacity for demanding braking environments. The rings also undergo DBA's Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP) process, designed to improve resistance to thermal stress, cracking, and distortion during repeated high-temperature braking cycles. DBA also incorporates thermographic heat-monitoring paint into its performance rotor technology. These temperature indicators provide a visual reference to the peak temperatures reached by the rotor, helping performance drivers and technicians evaluate brake-system temperatures and determine whether pad compounds and braking components are operating within appropriate temperature ranges. This package is particularly well suited to ZL1 and ZL1 1LE owners who regularly participate in HPDE, autocross, road-course, or other performance-driving events. It preserves the Camaro's factory two-piece rotor architecture while replacing the consumable iron friction rings with DBA's track-capable T3 5000 Series design. For Camaro ZL1 owners who want to retain the original GM rotor hats while upgrading the braking surfaces with slotted, high-carbon replacement rings, the DBA53916.1S pair provides a purpose-built solution engineered around the factory Brembo six-piston front brake system.

Important Notes

  • These are replacement friction rings only. They are not complete two-piece brake rotor assemblies.
  • The factory Camaro rotor hats/bells are reused.
  • Do not discard the factory rotor hats if they are suitable for reuse.
  • The slotted design helps maintain a clean pad surface, reduces glazing, and improves pad bite under demanding conditions.
  • The high-carbon alloyed iron construction provides increased heat capacity for performance use.
  • DBA applies its Thermal Stability Profiling process to improve resistance to cracking and warping from repeated thermal cycling.
  • Thermographic temperature-monitoring paint provides a visual indication of rotor operating temperature and can be useful when evaluating brake-pad compound selection for track use.
  • Proper bedding is especially important on a performance braking system because it establishes the pad transfer layer necessary for consistent friction and helps minimize uneven pad deposits.
  • Rotor direction/orientation should be confirmed during assembly and installation. The T3 slot pattern and internal ventilation design must be installed according to DBA's directional guidance.
  • Inspect the factory Brembo calipers, pistons, dust boots, pad abutments, brake hoses, and fluid condition while the front braking system is disassembled.
  • For track-driven ZL1 and ZL1 1LE models, brake fluid condition and boiling point are particularly important because upgraded rotor rings cannot compensate for overheated or moisture-contaminated brake fluid.
