DESCRIPTION:

Reduce wheel hop, minimize rear cradle movement, and improve power transfer on your 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro with the BMR Suspension Rear Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit featuring Part Number BK063. Designed for street performance, drag racing, and handling applications, the BK063 reinforces the factory rear cradle bushings rather than completely replacing them. This 100% bolt-on design uses a combination of CNC-machined Delrin, billet aluminum inserts, and laser-cut stainless steel components to dramatically reduce cradle bushing deflection while maintaining near-factory levels of noise, vibration, and harshness. The factory sixth-generation Camaro rear cradle bushings contain voids that allow the compliant rubber bushings to move under acceleration, braking, and cornering loads. While this compliance helps isolate the passenger compartment from NVH, excessive cradle movement can absorb power that would otherwise be transferred to the tires and is a major contributor to wheel hop. BMR developed the BK063 specifically to fill these factory bushing voids and significantly restrict unwanted movement without requiring complete removal of the OE cradle bushings. BMR's BK063 uses CNC-machined Delrin upper bushing inserts specifically shaped to fill the voids in both the front and rear factory cradle bushings. Additional hollow areas are filled using CNC-machined aluminum "bullet" inserts. Laser-cut stainless steel washers capture the lower Delrin inserts and help prevent vertical movement, creating a comprehensive lockout system around the factory cradle bushings. The result is a significant reduction in rear cradle movement. During BMR's testing, the BK063 produced approximately an 80-90% reduction in fore/aft and lateral cradle bushing deflection. BMR reports that a relatively stock Camaro on stock tires can experience a 90% or greater reduction, while more race-oriented vehicles with sticky tires may see slightly less. During testing with a vehicle launched at more than 7,000 rpm on drag radials, BMR still recorded approximately an 80% reduction. Vertical bushing deflection was reduced by 95% or greater throughout BMR's testing. Because the BK063 retains the factory bushings rather than replacing them with solid Delrin or polyurethane components, BMR was able to achieve these improvements with nearly no change in NVH. BMR specifically states that no NVH increase was observed during its testing when the vehicle did not have other accompanying modifications. This makes the BK063 an excellent choice for Camaro owners looking for a substantial improvement in rear cradle control without committing to the additional NVH and installation requirements associated with complete replacement bushings. Finished in Black for long-lasting appearance, the BK063 is a 100% bolt-on upgrade that utilizes existing mounting locations and hardware. BMR estimates installation at approximately 2-3 hours and proudly manufactures the kit in the USA. For sixth-generation Camaro owners looking to reduce wheel hop, improve power transfer, and substantially limit rear cradle movement while retaining the factory bushings, the BMR BK063 Rear Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit provides an effective performance-oriented solution.

Important Notes

  • This is a rear cradle bushing lockout kit, not a complete replacement bushing kit.
  • The factory rear cradle bushings remain installed.
  • BK063 fills and reinforces the voids within the factory cradle bushings to substantially limit their movement.
  • The kit utilizes CNC-machined Delrin, billet aluminum, and laser-cut stainless steel components.
  • CNC-machined Delrin upper inserts are designed specifically to fill the voids in the factory front and rear cradle bushings.
  • Additional hollow space is filled with CNC-machined aluminum "bullet" inserts.
  • Laser-cut stainless steel washers capture the lower Delrin inserts and help prevent up-and-down movement.
  • BK063 is a 100% bolt-on design and uses existing mounting locations and hardware.
  • BMR specifically designed the BK063 to reduce wheel hop, bushing deflection, and rear cradle movement.
  • Filling the factory bushing voids allows more power and torque to reach the tires rather than being absorbed through cradle movement.
  • Relatively stock vehicles with stock tires that are not driven extremely aggressively may see a 90% or greater reduction according to BMR's testing.
  • More race-oriented Camaros equipped with high-grip tires may experience slightly less reduction because of the greater forces transmitted into the cradle.
  • BMR recorded approximately an 80% reduction in bushing deflection while launching its test vehicle at more than 7,000 rpm on drag radials.
  • BMR recorded a 95% or greater reduction in vertical cradle bushing deflection throughout its testing.
  • BMR states that the BK063 produces nearly no change in NVH.
  • During BMR's testing, no change in NVH was observed on vehicles without other accompanying modifications.
  • Actual NVH characteristics can vary depending on other drivetrain, suspension, differential, exhaust, and chassis modifications.
  • Installation can be performed using a hydraulic jack, jack stands, basic metric sockets, and a hammer according to BMR's installation instructions.
  • Installation requires supporting and partially lowering the rear cradle to access the upper portions of the factory cradle bushings.
  • BMR's instructions begin installation at the front cradle bushings by supporting the cradle, removing the front cradle braces and main cradle bolts, and lowering the front of the cradle enough to access the upper bushings.
  • General Motors specifies replacement of the front and rear main cradle bolts because they are Torque-to-Yield/single-use fasteners.
  • BMR's instructions list 74 ft-lbs plus 90-105 degrees for these replacement cradle fasteners. Always verify current GM service information for the specific vehicle before installation.
  • BMR Part Number BK061 is the related 95-durometer polyurethane rear cradle bushing kit and completely replaces the factory cradle bushings.
  • BMR Part Number BK062 is the related Delrin rear cradle bushing kit and completely replaces the OE rubber bushings with solid two-piece Delrin bushings.
  • BK063 is particularly well suited to performance street cars where substantial cradle control is desired without the increased NVH associated with more rigid complete-replacement bushing solutions.
  • Professional installation is recommended for customers unfamiliar with rear cradle suspension components.
