DESCRIPTION:

Launch harder, reduce wheel hop, and improve cornering consistency on your 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro with the BMR Suspension Non-Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arms featuring Part Number UTCA061. Designed as a direct performance upgrade over the factory stamped-steel control arms, the UTCA061 combines heavy-duty boxed-steel construction with high-durometer polyurethane bushings to dramatically reduce both control arm flex and bushing deflection. The result is a stronger, more responsive rear suspension connection that helps transfer power to the tires while maintaining acceptable noise, vibration, and harshness levels for street-driven vehicles. The Camaro's factory stamped-steel upper control arms and soft rubber bushings are designed with compliance that benefits everyday ride comfort, but this flexibility can become a disadvantage during performance driving. Under hard acceleration and cornering loads, the factory arms can flex while the soft rubber bushings deflect, absorbing energy instead of transferring it efficiently through the suspension and to the tires. BMR engineered the UTCA061 to address both sources of unwanted movement. BMR manufactures the UTCA061 from heavy-duty 1 x 1.5-inch boxed steel tubing, with the open end constructed from CNC laser-cut and CNC-formed 3/16-inch steel plate. The assembly is MIG-welded to create a significantly stronger control arm than the factory stamped-steel component. BMR manufactures the UTCA061 at the factory length, making it a non-adjustable replacement intended to improve strength and suspension consistency without introducing additional geometry adjustment. The UTCA061 also replaces the soft factory rubber bushings with greasable 95-durometer polyurethane bushings. BMR internally flutes the polyurethane bushings so grease can evenly coat the inner sleeve and migrate toward the outer edge of the bushing, keeping the thrust surfaces properly lubricated. This design is intended to provide quiet, reliable operation while combining the compliance necessary for suspension articulation with the stiffness needed to withstand hard launches and high acceleration loads. By dramatically reducing control arm flex and greatly reducing bushing deflection, the UTCA061 helps produce more repeatable suspension behavior whether the Camaro is launching from the starting line, accelerating on the street, or being pushed through corners. BMR specifically engineered these arms for street performance, drag racing, and road racing, making them an excellent choice for enthusiasts who want increased rear suspension control without moving to a more aggressive rod-end-style control arm. Available in Red or Black Hammertone powdercoat finishes, the UTCA061 provides durable corrosion-resistant protection and BMR's recognizable performance appearance. Installation time is approximately two hours, and the control arms are proudly designed and manufactured in the USA.

Important Notes

  • This listing is for BMR's non-adjustable rear upper control arms with polyurethane bushings.
  • UTCA061 is manufactured to factory length and does not provide control-arm-length adjustment.
  • UTCA061 dramatically reduces control arm flex compared with the factory stamped-steel arms.
  • The factory control arms can flex under cornering loads, contributing to inconsistent suspension behavior.
  • Reducing control arm flex helps provide improved repeatability on the street, at the drag strip, and through corners.
  • UTCA061 uses high-durometer polyurethane bushings instead of rod ends.
  • The polyurethane bushings are 95-durometer and greasable.
  • BMR internally flutes the bushings to improve grease distribution around the inner sleeve.
  • Proper lubrication helps promote quiet, reliable operation and long bushing life.
  • BMR designed the polyurethane bushings to remain compliant enough to absorb a reasonable amount of NVH while remaining firm enough for demanding performance use.
  • The bushings are designed to withstand high compression loads generated by hard launches and aggressive acceleration while maintaining the articulation needed for handling.
  • The UTCA061 is the more street-oriented choice of these designs for customers who want stronger control arms and reduced bushing deflection while retaining polyurethane bushings and more acceptable NVH characteristics.
  • Because UTCA061 is built to factory length, it is intended primarily to improve strength and reduce suspension deflection rather than provide additional suspension geometry adjustment.
  • Polyurethane bushings require proper lubrication. Periodic inspection and lubrication should be incorporated into normal suspension maintenance.
  • Whenever rear suspension locating components are removed or replaced, checking rear alignment is recommended to verify proper suspension geometry.
  • Professional installation is recommended for customers unfamiliar with rear suspension component replacement.
